My Progress

I'm running 100 kms this month to leave MS behind

My Progress

101 KMS

My target

100 KMS

Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K for the third year. I will be running 100km throughout May to raise awareness and funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis and better access to treatments!

I'm running in memory of my lovely mum who died in 2020 having 'lived' with MS for 35 years without access to any treatment.

There are over 2.8 million people living with MS and I need your help to leave MS where it belongs, behind us. I know how important it is to continue the efforts to fund research.

Thank you so much!

My Updates

31st May

Woohoo!  I ran my final KMs tonight to reach my target!
I'm so happy.  I didn't think I'd do it last week but I didn't want to let myself down.
Thank you so much to everyone who's supported me in this.  It means so much to me.  Mum you are my inspiration.  I love you.

A week to go

I had to stop.
I was running in the park yesterday and had to stop due to knee pain.  Maybe it's the impact or a sprain I'm not sure but it hurt when I ran so I had to stop.  I'm going to give it a rest for a couple of days and see how it goes.  In the meantime I'll walk my kms.  If I can rest it enough to get a final run in on the 3Oth May for MS Day then that would be great.
Thank you so much everyone for having confidence in me.  I'm sorry to let you down, but I'll get there somehow!

Feeling grateful for your support

I feel so grateful for the support Im receiving 😊 I really do appreciate it. I’m halfway to my fundraising target. When I saw that I had some donations it spurred me on this morning to run 6km. Thank you so much, it means so much 😘 i dont always want to put my trainers on but I’m motivated by your support and the thought that I’m lucky that I can do this, so I do what you can to help MS. It’s not easy for people with disabilities in this world 😔

Halfway point

I’m 42kms in at the halfway point. I have 58km left to run in two weeks. I haven’t done any10km runs yet but I’ll have to organise a longer run over this weekend which is the four day Ascension weekend here in France. If I can get to 70kms by the end of week 3 I’ll be happy 😅

4th run

The weather is starting to heat up here. I ran at 10:30am today but I’ll have to go back to an earlier morning run as the month progresses. Nothing spectacular today, just a solid 5km around the block!
Looking forward to recording our MS choir song tomorrow with the Worldwide MS community.
World MS day is the 30 May.

2nd and 3rd Run

At the end of week one I’ve run 15km. A little below target as I was back in the UK for 5 days. I managed a short 2nd run in the UK despite not having my trainers with me 😅
Back home and so I got out to complete this week with a third run 5.5km on this Bank holiday / wedding anniversary 🥰
Now home for a glass of bubbly and plans to up the kms next week.

1st May

Time to do this!
First 5 km done for this challenge on a wet bank holiday Monday.
It was a slow and steady run around the neighbourhood to ease me in to this having not run since February.
As always though, once out there it feels good and even better once done.
Thinking of you mum and pop out there ❤️
