My Progress

I'm walking 50 kms this month to leave MS behind

My Progress

1 KMS

My target

50 KMS

Hi There!

My name is Anel. I am a second-year graphic design student living in the beautiful city of Cape Town. I love nature, and I recently found my love for fitness.

This year, as a part of my fitness journey, I will be taking on The May 50K. I will be walking/running 50 km throughout May to raise funds for MS research worldwide, so people all across the world can get effective treatment and support.

MS (Multiple Sclerosis) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the central nervous system. It disrupts the nervous system, which can lead to a variety of symptoms such as fatigue, numbness, vision problems, difficulties with coordination and balance, and cognitive difficulties. There is, unfortunately, no cure for it.

There are over 2.8 million people with MS. It is vital that we better understand MS so we can change the lives of those who have it and the lives of those who will have it in the future.

Join me in this challenge to raise funds for MS and to raise funds to win the fight against MS!

Lots of love! <3

My Updates

Day 1

And so it begins! Day one of the May 50K.

The challenge, unfortunately, didn't start the way I wanted it to, as I woke up with a slight cold. Therefore, I stayed inside and stayed warm to stop it from getting worse. I did, however, manage to walk a kilometre (around 3000 steps), which included me running back and forth to save my washing from a sudden downpour of rain. I ended my day with a quick walk to Egg Head diner to get a nice warm meal and coffee to end this cold day.

Let's hope I'm better by tomorrow.

Lots of love
Anel <3
